About This Work:

Painted on the reverse of a “Sidewalk Closed” sign, I decided to repurpose this massive sheet of metal when I discovered it in a recycling/scrap yard somewhere in downtown Buffalo. Left outside and partially buried in a mound of earth and overgrown plant life, I found the sign still attached to its original metal stand. Drawn to the aluminum sign immediately, I enlisted the help of the friend with whom I was at the scrap yard and together we successfully extracted the sign from the mess, removing the bolts which affixed it to two large metal poles, and left the stand behind.
